The drive from Almeria Airport is very easy because of the new motorway route. The drive from either Murcia or Alicante also is very easy because of the new motorway. All motorways are well marked and the exit for Mojacar is easily visible whether coming from the west (Almeria) or the north ( Murcia & Alicante).
There are daily connecting flights on the Spanish national air carrier, Iberia, between Madrid and Almeria as well as between Barcelona and Almeria, if you cannot get a direct flight into Almeria, Murcia or Alicante.
Car Hire: many multi-national and European rental car agencies have an office at the airports at which you can rent a car. One local, Almeria car rental company, available through "carjet.com", has been found to be competitively priced for car rentals. We have personally found that Crown Cars, based in Mojacar, is a reliable and reasonably priced rental option. They may be contacted at their web site: crowncarhire.com. They are even willing to meet you at Almeria airport with a rental car that you can drive to Mojacar.
